SPIR Announces Tender for Measurement of Czech Internet

The Czech Association for Internet Advertising (SPIR) today released a Request for Proposals for another wave of Czech internet audience measurement. The purpose is to carry out an independent and audited measurement, which, to be brief, should answer two basic questions: How many people in the Czech Republic visit internet pages, and what kind of people are they. Applicants will have time until the end of September to prepare proposals, and the selection of the most suitable candidate will be held in the Fall. The chosen applicant should begin preparations for measurement at the start of the new year. The current wave of the project, which is traditionally contracted for 3 years, ends in the summer of the next year.

SPIR Publishes First Data of Digital Video Consumption

The Czech Association of Internet Advertising (SPIR) has published the first public data of the visitation of  so-called multimedia content on the internet, i.e. the watching frequency of stream video and the consumption of flash games. These are the first analytical findings about the actual number of users, the amount of played material, and the view time spent on the internet media. The largest amount of people follow video productions on the Stream.cz video server, and the greatest amount of time on average is spent by users playing flash games by Geewa corporation.

PRAGUE, 10 June 2010 – SPIR has Changed: Grand Relaunch

June’s general meeting of the Internet Advertising Association (SPIR) brought about a major change to the internal regulations, which should reflect current development of the internet advertising and content market. The changes concern conditions of membership and the structure, as well as greater openness and responsiveness of SPIR. Last but not least, the general meeting set the regulations for the level individual members will have in deciding about the future of SPIR.
It is not just new technologies extending the reach of the internet and changing its coverage. “In recent years, the internet environment has changed significantly and it was necessary to react to these changes. We are trying to open SPIR to new types of subjects appearing on the market. It was also necessary to increase the flexibility of decision-making, for example with increasingly greater collaboration with the authorities. So I am glad that the proposed solution met with an absolute majority acceptance from the membership base,” commented Ján Simkanič, existing chairman of the SPIR Executive Board, on the changes adopted.
